Would love to see this sold to Apple and implemented in Logic X. Very intuitive fun and easy to use

Please fix, still creeps off the screen on fullscreen mode.
the drums from the Linn9000 don’t sound exactly like the real thing… is a good app but is not AU nor is it VST… plus it brings sounds that are similar but not exact… I would wait till they make it an AU plug in.. otherwise is just for practice or play.
I really hope this developer continues to update this and grow it like FL Studio (Fruity Loops) did. Fruity loops started out as a much more simple product and emerged into a powerhouse that unfortunately only runs on Windows. This looks like a great start for a replacement. I do have an issue when midi syncing to my analog synth (MicroBrute) in that the syncing seems half a note off. I dont think its a latency thing because if I have it serve as a master and drive notes on the synth, it syncs perfectly.
DM1 has an impressive collection of sounds. It is easy to make fun grooves in standard time-signatures. Though the app shows 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8 as options, it does not treat the dotted quarter-note as a beat (which is standard). So it is basically just truncating the pattern length with no actual triplets. This is a considerable oversite since you might like to have a groove with actual triplets in it. It’s not a deal breaker, it is just a “fake” feature that requires you to do some work-arounds. All they would need to do is scale the step to beat/tempo ratio from 4:1 to 3:1. I’ve mentioned this to the developer but gotten no response about it. Would love to see this app evolve into a more rhythmically versatile machine. For example, would love to see beats be able to be divided (per track, per beat) a la iOS’s Molten.
I’ve used a lot of different DAWsa (or should say, tried messing around on them) and this is definitely one of the most intuitive. Love it! Thanks for making it sound and look and function great.
If you are new to drum pattern programming, this is really hard to beat (pu-pu-pun not intended). If a rhythm pops into my head in the middle of work, this is that app I launch rather than Ableton Live or GarageBand. If I am in my living room, I launch the iPad version, out and about, the iPhone version. It’s intuitive with enough advanced features to tweak away for hours. I highly recommend it, but it really needs to have an AU version (on Mac and iOS) for it to play well with other apps and be integrated into my music making process. (I originally also wrote, "Project files should be transferable between the Mac and iOS versions.” However, I finally found that this feature also exists in the iPhone version where it is located hidden behind the Song Load button rather than with the other export options.)
On my iMac it has a few bugs. 1. When I’m in “full screen” viewing mode, the top inch of the screen disappears. If I click out of full screen mode, then click back in it fixes the problem for about 15 min. 2. It stops playing audio, and when it stops it never comes back unless I reselect all the samples for each track. 3. It does not always keep my saved my work. I can save a song and reload it a few times, then suddenly it’s not there anymore. 4. I emailed the company via their website a week ago, still no answer. I’m using a 2012 iMAC 2.7 GHz quad core i5 with 10.12.2 DM1 came so highly recommended, so I’m feeling like I just blew $10. Aside from that I like it (when it works) the sampled drum sounds are really good and the effects/sequencer/mixer/ are too. so it gets 2 stars. The other three come when they respond to my email and help me get this thing working. :)
Full Song Multitrack Export takes a very long time (30minutes for a 5 minute song on a 2015 i7 iMac), and often writes files that aren’t playable. In general, audio export often fails to write useable files. For casual use, this is a good app. The lack of useable export makes it useless for anything more
pretty good!
- Sync-option between Iphone and Mac for more flexibility would be Awesome (couldn`t continue my Iphone Project on the mac, maybe i did something wrong, dunno) - More Kits - :) That`s All- Great App!
Attention: might not work with external sound cards. But Fingerlab promised update soon... Otherwise looks good like the iPad version, including full view with all features and knobs on one page.
I bought this program to build a few beats when I play guitar. I have very minimal musical background, even less when it comes to beat and rhythms. This app is very simple and user friendly, in just a few minutes you can come up with nice rhythms tracks. For the price, I seriously find it hard to beat. I dont know the limitations of the program since I will probably only make simple use of it, but it looks like there are a lot of features you can play with if you are really into rhythms. You can add Midi sounds to your beat, put some distortion, reverb, delay… there are a lot of possibilities.
Good app and fun to use, though I cant figure out how to edit or delete custom drum kits! If such functionality does not currently exist in the app then it should.
Awesome App! Im not a musician by any means, might remix music on occasion, but I do enjoy making beats with this app. However I did find one glitch. When I hit the solo button in the mixer I sometimes get unwanted feedback/static. Im using this on an iMac, OS X 10.7.5, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
I own these apps for both iMac and iPad and only the iPad version was updated with the new drum kits recently why is that?
The possibilities while using this app are endless! But I typically get about 5 minutes of music making before the whole user interface freezes and the beats cary on… My computer is about a year old so i doubt it’s a hardware issue. Could be an easy fix from the developers standpoint… maybe this is natively an iPad app converted to OsX? I will hopfully update this review as long as the problem is resolved.
Its a dumbed-down, undertested port. Extremely buggy and missing half of the features the current IPad version has. Scroll bars appear/disappear for no reason, the app quits without saving, exported songs cut half-way through. I currently cant access the song timeline past the first 12 patterns because of this.. which makes it kind of useless - unless you like short songs. Timeline also doesnt have numbers (????) so even if the scroll buttons DO work, I have no idea where I am in the timeless. Also useless. Customer service is/was nonexistant. I guess its fun if you like twiddling away on your desktop - but Id stick to the IPad version and NOT waste your time/money.
It works well for me, and there are so many features and so many different drum machines. Although there are only 6 different types of instruments, there are many different instruemnts within each type. Furthermore, you can add effects to your beats and export them! I’d say it’s really good
TERRIBLE port of a fantastic iOS app. Where is the swing setting? Why can BPM be set as a numerical value from the keyboard? And good luck trying to scroll the list of avaible drumkits. Those are just a few examples. Avoid this app until it gets fixed.
